Why Is It Always The Girl’s Fault?

“Why is it always the girl’s fault?” This is what Miss Moneypenny said to me once when we were having a conversation about how women are treated when they were either single and pregnant or in some cultures (Ours included.) victims of rape. We were both bothered by this train of thought. There are those who believe that many sexual activities that occur to women’s bodies happen in a single-occupancy vacuum. Continue reading

Purple Tape Sh*t/Stuck Off The Realness

This gallery contains 1 photos.

Almost two weeks ago several superhero types and I all gathered in Charlotte to see The Rock the Bells Tour. Tasked with witnessing some mid-1990’s awesomeness, my brother @dickyoungjr, portions of @thegoodoleboys, @MusyDoeKnow, and @Eclipz_SC (Please watch this!) all came together at the Fillmore for some fellowship. Whether it’s a tragedy, a hangover, or a terrible day at work sometimes hindsight is helpful. Continue reading

This gallery contains 2 photos.

A good portion of my sentiment about being a carrier of a Y chromosome is based on the fact that I’m puzzled by the behavior of guys that are six to ten years younger than me.[i] To be blunt, these little millennial dudes are soft. Book Review: The Cut

This gallery contains 1 photos.

I know that this sentiment has been shared by myself and others on prior occasions but it must be done once more: Reading a George Pelecanos novel is akin to reading DC’s version of The Wire or Homicide: Life on the Street. The only difference is that you usually have to wait about a year for a new episode or in this case book to come out. Continue reading
